Why can't I just use AI detection tools?
AI detection tools have false positive rates of 2-10%, meaning they regularly flag human-made content as AI-generated. They also have false negative rates above 20% for the latest models. As AI improves, these tools become less reliable — not more. A blockchain timestamp doesn't try to analyze whether content is AI-generated. How does timestamping prove a photo isn't AI-generated?
