Frequently Asked Questions
The shortest path to the product details that matter before you timestamp, verify, or deploy TimeProof in a workflow.
Credits and Pricing
How do credits work in TimeProof V1?
TimeProof uses one unified credit balance. Scheduled timestamps cost 1 credit per file, instant timestamps cost 2 credits per file for verified monthly-plan users, and Legal-Grade is a plan-aware upgrade priced by batch size.
Can I use TimeProof without a subscription?
Yes. One-time credit packs let unverified users create scheduled timestamps. Monthly plans are for users who also need identity verification, instant timestamps, and Legal-Grade workflows.
Do pack credits expire?
No. Pack credits do not expire. Included monthly plan credits refresh each billing cycle and do not roll over.
Verification and Legal-Grade
What is identity verification used for?
Identity verification strengthens the evidentiary value of your timestamps. It is required for instant timestamps, Legal-Grade workflows, and organization creation.
What is included in Legal-Grade?
Legal-Grade is an upgrade package that adds the Courtroom-Ready PDF, JSON metadata, identity attestation, verification guidance, and Complete Evidence ZIP. It is not a separate timestamp type or a separate credit bucket.
Can third parties verify TimeProof evidence without contacting TimeProof?
Yes. Blockchain timestamps can be checked independently on Polygon and Polygonscan. Identity attestations are designed to be verified through the public JWKS endpoint.
Privacy and Security
Do you store my original files?
No. TimeProof computes a SHA-256 fingerprint client-side and anchors that fingerprint. Your original file does not need to be uploaded to create a timestamp.
Can a blockchain timestamp be altered or deleted?
No. Once anchored on-chain, the record is immutable. That permanence is one of the core value propositions of the product.
What happens if TimeProof goes offline someday?
Your blockchain proof remains independently verifiable because the anchor exists on Polygon. TimeProof packages are designed so the evidence can still be checked without depending on private internal systems.
Organizations and Teams
What are organizations?
Organizations let teams share balances, coordinate timestamp activity, and manage roles under a common operational context.
Do I need verification to create an organization?
Yes. Organization creation and management require a verified monthly plan.
Can organization members use shared credits?
Yes, subject to the permissions and roles assigned inside the organization.
